Froedtert Hospital In-Patient Rehab Renovation

Full electrical design converting an existing patient floor into an in-patient rehabilitation wing, coordinated across power, lighting, and fire alarm between the hospital and a separate rehab group leasing the space.

The challenge

An existing patient floor was being converted into a rehabilitation wing for patients recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. The work sat inside a running hospital, and the space was leased by a separate rehab group, so the design had to reconcile the hospital's existing systems and stakeholders with those of the outside operator.

What we did

We removed the existing bedside med-gas, nurse-call, and over-bed lighting, reconfigured the lighting in each patient room to the new furniture plan, and converted the central nurses station into a group therapy room. Power, lighting, and an addressable fire alarm system were redesigned around the new layout.

Delivery

Patients were relocated off the wing for construction, so the work proceeded without disrupting care elsewhere in the facility.
